Exhibition Submission Guidelines

Eligibility & Exhibition Proposals

Tri-Art Gallery welcomes submissions from emerging to professional individual artists, curators, and collectives to apply with new or existing exhibition proposals. Exhibitions will be on view for 3-6 weeks and accessible during regular store hours.

Tri-Art Products Requirement

As the primary showroom for Tri-Art products, the Tri-Art Gallery gallery is dedicated to showing artwork that has been produced all or in significant part with Tri-Art manufactured products*. Work that does not include Tri-Art products does not fit the mandate of our gallery and will not be considered for shows. Some exceptions may apply.

The Tri-Art Gallery is not currently accepting digital art submission.

*Note: This does not mean "any materials purchased at Art Noise", but more specifically, products produced by Tri-Art Mfg. Inc. Visit www.tri-art.ca for more information or contact gallery@tri-art.ca for clarification.

Curated Group Shows & Installations

Tri-Art Gallery will (when scheduling allows) host a curated group show on a yearly basis for Tri-Art users. Notices for submission to these shows will appear on this page and social media.

Installations that consist of or include an audio or video component (with or without sound) will also be considered for exhibition.

Submission Process

All submissions must be made online via the Tri-Art Gallery submission platform at the bottom of this page. Mailed submissions will not be accepted. While we appreciate all those who apply, only successful applicants will be contacted.

We do file all applications and may contact you to invite you to take part in a show at a future date.

Submitted Work Presentation Guidelines

Ready to hang: All work submitted must be ready to hang with wires and hardware properly attached, framed if required, and in good condition. Saw-tooth hangers are not suitable hardware for the gallery walls. All painted works must be fully cured (dry) when submitted.

Loose prints and cards: Loose prints must be in their own plastic sleeve, and art cards must come with a corresponding envelope, preferably in a plastic sleeve.

Canvas and panel: Works on canvas and/or cradled panels: Unframed artwork on canvas or cradled wood panel must have sides that are gallery width (at least 1.5 inches thick), staple-free, and finished either by painting the sides in one tone or continuing the work around the sides.

Sculpture: Sculptural pieces must be labelled (if space allows) with the artist's name and artwork title, or alternatively with a number corresponding to an associated document. Wall or ceiling-mounted sculpture must be ready to hang with wire or appropriate hardware.

Works on paper: Works on paper must be clean and framed, unless they are designed to be hung from clips (at the discretion of the artist and gallery).

Labelling: All work must be clearly labelled on the back with the artist's name and artwork title.

Cards: We do not display artists personal art/business cards in the gallery.

Caveat: At our discretion the gallery reserves the right to reject, or request amendments to, works that do not adhere to these presentation guidelines.
